home parties

You have probably heard of the home party before in order to sell more products as well as recruit potential new team members. I have yet to try a home party myself but I have had friends come over individually to try one of the products I recommend. I think both methods have great potential but parties can be a lot more fun.

Before you schedule a party, there are some things to take into consideration first:

  • Do you have products which can be sampled or demonstrated?
  • Do you mind having several people in your home at once?
  • Are you capable of being a good host?
  • Is your home suited to accomodate 15 - 20 people comfortably?

Scheduling and Sending Invitations

Schedule your party at a convenient time. One day on the weekend would probably work best as people are pretty busy during the week between work and family. You can send invitations via email or snail mail. Whichever way you choose to do it, consider the following to make most of your time and effort:

  • Exclusivity - note that these are private invitations.
  • Time - Set a specific timeframe (1 hour or whatever you choose.)
  • RSVP - Request that they rsvp and notify you at least 24 hours for cancellations.
  • Make it fun - let them know about games/prizes.

Another tip when sending out invitations is to invite more people than you originally planned as there will be those who won't attend due to cancellations or other reasons.

Preparation

Be sure that you have several products on hand for sampling, demonstrations, and selling. Have plenty of order forms ready to place orders. A lot of network marketing companies do most of their sales online but check with your sponsor or directly with the company as some do provide order forms in PDF format which you can print out and have copies made.

Decide what types of contests and prizes that you want to have. You could give away a free product as a prize or offer a discount.

Have some beverages on hand (coffee, tea, juice, etc.) and light snacks. Decide whether to hold the party indoors or outdoors (if you have nice sized backyard.) Consider having some music playing in the background.

Make the party fun by keeping it moving at all times. You don't want to come across as just a boring presentation. These people are your friends and maybe some acquaintances so it should feel natural to have a fun time together.

If you are also looking to build up your team, be sure to emphasize the benefits of becoming a distributor such as huge discounts on future purchases and earning money as well.

Try to make the party fun and not so much like a sales meeting. People will be more open and receptive if they are enjoying themselves in the process.
