When I started my Beachbody business, I immediately set up a web site and a blog. I knew that a blog would bring natural organic traffic. I'm not a stranger to running a blog and I know the benefits when you write consistently. Since my network marketing business is based in the health and fitness industry, I use my blog to track my personal progress in terms of weight loss.

A blog holds many advantages in terms of marketing. Here are a few ways I use my blog to market my business:

Burn Your Feed

Once you have your blog set up, use Feedburner to create an RSS feed. This makes it easy to keep count of your readers and you also have the option to offer email subscriptions for folks who don't use RSS readers.

Consider an Autoresponder

You can also sign up for an autoresponder to collect opt-ins and send out newsletters. I use Aweber because they offer a blog broadcast feature where you can hook up your blog's RSS feed to send out as an email. You can set it up to send an email on certain days or according to any new blog posts.

Types of Blog Posts

My posts mainly pertain to my personal progress with using Beachbody products. I blog about my weight loss and fitness updates. Every now and then I will blog about the business portion as well. I started video blogging for the first time because of this particular blog and now I love it. I used to be terrified of doing video but after some practice, it has become fun and provides more variety than just plain text.

If you have no technical skills, you can use free blogging services such as Wordpress.com or Blogger.com. I use both but for blogs I plan on keeping long-term, I install Wordpress.
