As network marketers it is easy to get caught up following the herd and over hyping your products hoping to make a sale. I can tell you from my own experience that there is no need to hype up your products or business. One thing we shouldn't do is underestimate people. Most people can tell when you are simply selling without any genuine interest in how the product or service you are promoting can benefit them. You don't have to hype up your product or service to sell them.
Sell More by Being Genuine
When you purchase products or services, do you often like to research and find out what other people have to say about it? I know I do. I read user reviews on almost anything I intend on buying. I can tell when reviews are not genuine. Most of the time, the reviewer only has good things to say or it just comes across as one long sales pitch. A much better way to gain the interest of a potential customer is by being honest about the product.
The way to do this is by actually using what you are selling. There are several products that I promote and as I use them, I write about my experience on my blog. I either write posts, create videos, or both to talk about my own experience. Yes, I am probably biased in my reviews, but if you still come across as genuine, you can still make sales.
The same applies to speaking to people or groups. You don't need to go on and on about how great the product or service is. Talk about how it has personally benefited you. If there are things about it that you think didn't work or could use improvement, be honest. You are not going to lose sales by being honest. People are searching for that honesty. You will gain a level of trust and you will stand out among the others out there who are all shouting about how great the product is.
